TLH Cares
Grace that stops at the door isn’t grace.
TLH Cares is how this church shows up outside a service — meals, blankets, and practical help, in the UK and abroad. It runs when there is a need and the means to meet it, not to a marketing calendar.
What we do
Small, direct, and finished properly.
Food
Hot meals and food parcels, given to people where they already are rather than at an event they have to find.
Warmth
Blankets and winter essentials through the cold months, in the UK and in the communities we work with overseas.
Quiet help
One-off practical support for people in and around the church who are having a hard season. Asked for privately, given the same way.
“Let us not love with words or speech, but with actions and in truth.”
Every meal, blanket and quiet act of help is that verse made practical — for neighbours in the UK and the communities we serve in Nigeria.
Recent outreaches
What actually happened, and where.
Winter
United Kingdom
Blanket distribution
Winter essentials handed out locally through the coldest weeks, alongside a hot meal.
Ongoing
International
Food outreach
Meals provided in partnership with people already on the ground, so that what we send arrives as food rather than as overheads.
As needed
Church family
Benevolence
Ring-fenced help for members in difficulty. Never announced, never conditional.
Nigerian Youth Foundation
TLH funds the Nigerian Youth Foundation, which runs its own programmes and its own site. We pay for work we do not put our name on, because that is rather the point.
How this gets paid for
Giving, and nothing clever.
TLH Cares has no separate fundraising machine. It is funded out of general giving and the occasional appeal when something specific comes up, and every outreach is signed off by the trustees like any other spend.
- No administration fee taken from outreach funds.
- Appeals name the amount needed and stop when it is met.
- Reported in the annual accounts like everything else.
