New here
Come as you are. We mean it plainly.
Nobody will greet you at a door, put you on a list, or ask you to stand up and introduce yourself. Here is exactly what happens, so you can decide from your own sofa.
What we're about
Three convictions, and everything else follows.
You were reached first
Grace is not a reward for getting it together. It arrived before you did anything about it, and it is not withdrawn on your bad weeks.
Identity before performance
We teach who you already are in Christ before we teach what to do about it. In that order, obedience stops being anxious.
Nobody graduates
There is no inner circle here, no tier you unlock. The person who joined this morning and the person who has been here since the first livestream hear the same thing.
How the hour runs
Sunday, start to finish.
Two identical services — eight and ten o'clock, same worship, same message. The times below are the eight o'clock; the later one runs the same shape, two hours on. About seventy minutes end to end, and you can leave at any point without anybody following up about it.
07:50
The room opens, and worship starts
Afrosoul and gospel, much of it written here for the series we are in. Words on screen. Sing, or just let it play while you make coffee.
08:00
The teaching — about fifty-five minutes
One passage, worked through properly. Bring a Bible or read along on screen.
08:55
Affirmation and prayer — five minutes
We say back what is already true of us, and pray. Join in or listen, both are normal.
09:00
We close
Stay on afterwards if you want to talk to someone, or close the tab. Nobody follows up about it.
The rest of the week
Wednesday and Saturday, in brief.
Both run on Zoom rather than the stream. Cameras stay optional throughout.
Wednesday — from 6:00pm
18:00
Worship
18:25
A testimony
Someone tells you what happened to them. Five minutes, unrehearsed.
18:30
The Word — an hour
19:30
The 8:00 Crew — until eight
The recording stops. Half an hour with whoever stays: questions, conversation, prayer. Nothing from it goes online, which is rather the point.
Saturday — from 6:00am
06:00
Worship — fifteen or twenty minutes
06:20
Prayer, until seven
Come with your coffee. Nobody minds if you are still half asleep.
The questions people actually ask
Asked quietly, answered straight.
Do I have to put my camera on?
No. Most people don’t. Nobody is spotlighted without being asked first, and the answer can be no.
Will I be asked for money?
There is a giving link, because we are a registered charity with bills. It is never passed around, and guests are never asked. Give nothing for as long as you like.
What if I'm not sure I believe any of it?
Then listen. Doubt is not a disqualification here, and you will not be cornered about it afterwards.
I already belong to a church.
Good. A lot of people join the eight o’clock and go on to their own church afterwards — that is a normal way to be here, and we are not trying to move anyone.
Do I need to sign up or join anything?
No account, no membership, no form. Turn up to the stream or watch the replay.
Can I only ever catch the replay?
That is fine, and it is how a good number of people here do it. Sunday goes up the same afternoon; midweek by Thursday morning.
I'd like someone to pray with me.
Send a prayer request any time. Someone real reads it, and it goes no further than the prayer team.

Who leads it
Pastor Davies K. Bamigboye
Davies started The Light’s House in 2020, when most church doors were shut and a livestream was the only room people could gather in. It has stayed a room anyone can walk into.
He had spent years in ministry by then, several of them leading The Logos Group, which met in a different home each time to teach, pray and eat together. Starting a church was not his idea. He was called to it.
He teaches grace, and you don’t need to have it together to listen. He writes some of the songs the church sings, and is the author of Glory and Honour and Invaluable.
He serves on the board of trustees and takes no salary from the church.
Whenever you're ready
No commitment more demanding than an hour.
Join a gathering this week, or take the free devotional and start on your own. Either is a proper beginning; neither puts you on a list.
