The Blessing · Part Four · Note
The Blessing Restored & Made Permanent
Three weeks ago, God blessed Adam and Eve before they had done anything. Two weeks ago, that blessing survived the Fall, centuries without a priesthood, and Aaron’s golden calf. Last week, we sat in the weight of needing Aaron — the only man authorised to speak what an ordinary Israelite could not speak over their own household.
Something happened that changes who is allowed to carry this blessing. And it did not happen quietly.
The veil tears
And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom.
Matthew 27:51 · KJV
That veil was the physical boundary that made a human intermediary necessary. Top to bottom — not torn by hands reaching up, but from heaven downward. God Himself removed the boundary, and the whole logic of “you need someone else to access this for you” tore with it.
Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus… let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith.
Hebrews 10:19, 22 · KJV
Boldness, draw near, full assurance. That is not the language of someone who still needs Aaron. It is an invitation not to visit the holy place once a year with the right credentials, but to live there.
A royal priesthood, of a greater order
But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light.
1 Peter 2:9 · KJV
Present tense. Basileion hierateuma — king and priest fused into one office, confirmed twice in Revelation (1:6; 5:10). And Hebrews 7 tells us this is not Aaron’s line. It is the order of Melchizedek, the king-priest who blessed Abram in Genesis 14 — the priesthood Levi himself paid tithes to through Abraham (Hebrews 7:4–10). That is the order Jesus holds, and the order He has placed you in.
Old Covenant
Aaron
“Authority through office”
You needed someone else’s standing to access what was yours. The Name was worn on a garment and a forehead plate (Exodus 28:36–38).
New Covenant
Melchizedek
“Authority through identity”
You carry the standing yourself. The Name is written on you (Revelation 3:12; 22:4) — not decoration, but the means by which the blessing works.
The blessing no curse can reverse
In Numbers 23, Balak, king of Moab, hires the diviner Balaam to curse Israel. Three times Balak moves him to a new vantage point. Three times blessing comes out instead.
God is not a man, that he should lie… hath he said, and shall he not do it?… Behold, I have received commandment to bless: and he hath blessed; and I cannot reverse it.
Numbers 23:19–20 · KJV
I cannot reverse it. Not “I choose not to.” The Fall restricted access but did not cancel the blessing. A golden calf exposed Aaron but did not cancel it. A foreign king’s treasury aimed at cursing God’s people could not touch it. If neither your failure nor someone else’s hostility can reverse it, what are you still afraid might take it from you?
The blessing of Abraham, released
Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us… That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
Galatians 3:13–14 · KJV
At the cross Christ did not just cancel a penalty. He became the curse, so the blessing spoken over Abram could legally reach everyone. And its scope is total: God “hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ” (Ephesians 1:3). Abraham was blessed. Balaam could not undo it. Christ became a curse to extend it to you.
One practice, not four ideas
Numbers 6 was words God authorised a priest to speak. You are now a priest. So the practice is simple: speak the blessing out loud, by name, over one person, every day. It is not presumption but stewardship — exercising what God already settled. It must be spoken, because Aaron’s mouth had to move too. It must be guarded, because shamar means to keep: the same person, every day. And it must be shared, because the office was opened up, not privatised.
Then return to what you named in Parts Two and Three — the place you were waiting for permission, the place you were still waiting on Aaron. The veil that made the waiting necessary has torn. You are not waiting at the edge of the camp anymore. You are the one authorised to speak.
