Giving

Give because you are blessed. Not to become blessed.

We are not going to build a sermon around your wallet. Giving here is a response to something already settled, and it is entirely optional — here is exactly what it pays for.

Where it goes

A small church with real bills.

The stream

Largest cost

Production and licensing

Cameras, the media team, streaming platform and music licensing. This is what keeps the church free to attend from anywhere.

Sundays

Venue

CEME Business Campus, Rainham

Room hire for the in-person gathering, plus the equipment that travels with it.

The team

People

Paid staff in the UK and Nigeria

A small paid team across both countries, supported by volunteers who carry most of the work. Giving lets us pay the roles that cannot reasonably be voluntary.

Resources

Kept free

Devotionals, books and the Academy's free tier

Someone pays for the things we give away. It is not the person downloading them.

Benevolence

Ring-fenced

Help for people in the church who are struggling

Held separately and given quietly. Ask the office if you need it — that is what it is for.

Full audited figures are published in our annual report to the Charity Commission.

How to give

Once or monthly. Always your choice.

Give securely with card

A gift, freely given.

Card payments are handled securely by Stripe. Choose how often and how much, then continue to a secure checkout.

£25.00 one-off

A single donation, with no recurring payment.

Card details are entered on Stripe's secure checkout. This website never sees or stores them.

Plainly

What your giving does not buy.

It does not buy membership.

There is no giving threshold for belonging here, and no register of who gives what beyond what the law requires us to keep.

It does not buy access.

Everything taught is free to everyone. No content sits behind a donation, and it never will.

It does not buy influence.

Decisions sit with the trustees. Giving more does not give you a louder vote, and giving nothing does not cost you one.

It does not buy God's favour.

You already have that, and it was not for sale. Any teaching that suggests otherwise is not what we believe.

Accountability

Who watches the money.

The Light’s House is a registered charity in England and Wales, governed by a board of trustees. Pastor Davies sits on that board and takes no salary from the church.

  • Annual accounts filed with the Charity Commission and public.
  • Trustees approve every budget over the delegated limit.
  • Two signatories on every payment out.
